Writing a Successful Resume

The resume is a critical part of the job search process.  It serves as an introduction to who you are, and most importantly, has one major goal in mind:  to secure an interview!  In addition to landing an internship, co-op, or permanent opportunity, a resume may also be requested when being considered for scholarships, graduate school, and membership into professional organizations.

Recent studies show that, on average, it takes professional recruiters 11 to 13 seconds to review a resume.  Knowing this, your overall objective should be to make a quick, yet lasting impression by customizing a resume that matches the needs of your potential employer with your knowledge, skills, abilities, experiences, and strengths.
