Career Day for Nurses

Healthcare facilities from across the country network with students of the nursing and health care profession about career opportunities. If you are not a nursing major but interested in working in the healthcare field, this is a perfect networking opportunity for you as well.

Career Development Conference

This event is sponsored by the University Industry Cluster (UIC) and the Office of Career Services. Students engage in two (2) fun filled days of intense workshops, motivational keynotes, special programs, and networking activities. All workshops are facilitated by UIC Reps. A certificate of completion is awarded at the end of the program.

Career Development Month Activities

November is designated as National Career Development Month and is celebrated by Universities/Colleges across the country.  The purpose of career development month is to enhance awareness among students, faculty and staff. A plethora of activities have been coordinated to achieve this purpose including career days, an etiquette dinner, a dress for success contest, Norfolk Southern Day and much more!

Career Fair Program Kick-Off

It’s count down to the Career Awareness Fair.  Visit us at Williams Cafeteria and/or the Student Union on Kick-off day to learn about the 100+ employers that will participate. Then, throughout the week, engage in various workshops/programs on navigating the career fair, mock interviews and resume writing/critiques. Don’t miss the Fashion Show Finale. REGISTER TO WIN A LAPTOP DONATED BY HP AS WELL AS OTHER GREAT PRIZES.

Education/Arts & Sciences Expo (EASE) – Career Fair

It’s not just for teachers! Educational Institutions from across the country will be on hand to recruit for positions within the school system which include: teaching, athletics, social work, psychology, nursing, technology, computers, counseling, business administration, dietetics/nutrition, arts, sciences, music and more.

Fall/Spring On-Campus Recruiting

Looking for a full-time position, co-op or summer internship? Visit the on-campus recruiting link under the student tab to see who is coming to campus. If you meet the requirements outlined by the employers, sign-up to interview. You must be registered with OCS to participate in on-campus interviewing.

Fall/Spring OCS Orientation Sessions

Orientation is the first part of the OCS Registration Process and is necessary in order to interview on campus or participate in resume referrals. During Orientation, students learn about OCS and its many resources as well as set-up their AggieTrak account and upload the resume if available.

Graduate & Professional
School
Day

Interested in obtaining an advanced degree? Don’t miss this fair. Graduate and Professional schools from across the country will be on hand to recruit students for their programs while also discussing the admissions process, financial aid and more.

Lunch & Conversations

Faculty and Staff are invited to join OCS for lunch as well as exchange information to get to know each other better. This is an opportunity for faculty & staff to lean about OCS (who we are, what we do and how we can help you) and vice versa.  RSVP required.

Mock Career Fair

In order to have a successful career fair experience, participants need to know how to navigate the fair and interact with recruiters. This program will teach students how to approach recruiters during the career fair and how to introduce and sell themselves to stand out from the crowd.

Norfolk Southern Day

Join representatives from Norfolk Southern as they host different activities to build relationships with students, faculty and staff while informing individuals about the company and career opportunities.

OCS Open House/Appreciation Day

Visit our office to learn more about OCS while engaging in food, fun and activities. There just might be a little of token of appreciation given during your visit.

Spring Career Fair

Over 125 employers throughout the United States attend this event to offer permanent, co-op and internship positions in ALL disciplines.

University/Industry Classroom Visitation

Employers who are members of the University/Industry Cluster Program visit various classrooms on the Thursday after the Career Awareness Fair to speak to students about a common theme relevant to career and/or professional development.  This event is open to any faculty who is willing to allow representatives to visit their class. This is a great way to bridge academia and industry.

Walk-in Hours

Don’t have an appointment with a counselor but you have questions about career opportunities or need help with your resume, interviewing techniques or job search to name a few? Then visit OCS during walk-in hours. No appointment necessary. First come basis. Please note: For resume critiques, bring your document on a jump drive or save it to an email account for access during your session
