Enter Profile Data

  1. Go to www.careerserv.ncat.edu.

  2. Click on Student or Alumni.

  3. Click on Log-In.

  4. First-time users enter the school password (ncat).

  5. Click Submit. Enter your email address.

  6. Fill out each section as completely as possible-Contact Information, Educational Information, Employment Preferences, Demographic Information, and Login Information.

  7. Make note of your user name and user password because you will need this information for future entry into your account.

  8. Now you have completed your profile data. Next, choose Post or Update Resume.

Upload a Resume

  1. After completing your profile data on-line, Click on Post or Update Resume.

  2. Read the Release Agreement and click on the check box if you comply.

  3. Name your resume.

  4. Click on Browse, find your resume on your hard drive or on a disk, and then double-click on the file to be uploaded.

  5. Click on Upload Your Resume. Review the Preview Resume page. If you are satisfied with the resume, then click on Save Resume at the top of the page.

  6. Choose your resume search status.

Account Activated

Your account is active (meaning, you are able to access the on-campus interviewing link and sign-up for interviews) once your profile data and resume have been approved by OCS. You will receive a congratulatory e-mail notifying you of your acceptance within three(3) to four(4) business days.

If your registration is not accepted (due to errors, use of personal pronouns, formatting, etc.), you will receive an e-mail requesting that the corrections be made and the corrected resume resubmitted.   If the changes are too numerous, you will be asked to see a counselor for assistance.

Upon resubmission, please e-mail OCS at ocs@ncat.edu or call (336) 334-7755 to let us know that you have made the necessary changes.

Sign-up for Interviews

  1. After entering your user name and password, click on On-Campus Interview. (Note: If the On-Campus Interview link is not active, please check with the Office of Career Services to make sure you have completed all of the necessary steps.)

  2. Search by date range (mm/dd/yyyy) to pull up a list of on-campus interviews.

  3. Use the pull-down menu to choose what dates you want to search (interview date, open sign-up deadline).

  4. You may also search by partial company name.

  5. Click on Search Interviews. If you want more search options, click on the More Search Options Available Link.

  6. Once you have pulled up a list of interviews, click on the Detail link next to the Job Title that you are interested in. Read the details on the Job Details page.

  7. Make special note of the Event Information, Deadlines and Requirements table to determine: If you meet the Event Requirements, When you can begin signing up for an interview time slot, What material you need to submit to the employer.

  8. During the sign-up date range, click on Sign up for this Interview.

  9. Click on the button next to the desired time slot. Click on Sign-up.

  10. Choose the resume that you want to submit and then click on Submit Resume.

  11. When your resume has been submitted you will be taken to a Success Page. (Note: you may want to print this out for your records.)

To Cancel an Interview
 
1.  To cancel an interview that you have signed up for, go to Personal dates, choose the option that reads, “I  
     have signed up for” and click on Display Dates.
2.  Click on the check box next to the interview that you want to cancel.
3.  Click on Remove.
 
Note: Online cancellations must be completed by 7:00 a.m. the working day prior to the scheduled interview.  However, they can be made in the OCS using appropriate forms until 9:00 a.m.  Cancellations cannot be made by phone, fax or e-mail.  Failure to appear for an interview at a confirmed time will go on the student’s record as a NO-SHOW.

To Change an Interview
 
1.  You can remove yourself from your current time slot by following the steps in To Cancel an Interview and then
     sign up for a new interview time slot.
 
 Note: Online changes must be completed by 7:00 a.m. the working day prior to the scheduled interview.  However, they can be made in the OCS using appropriate forms until 9:00 a.m.  Cancellations cannot be made by phone, fax or e-mail.  Failure to appear for an interview at a confirmed time will go on the student’s record as a NO-SHOW.
